Will Patriarch Kirill be recognized as a heresiarch?
‘What Patriarch Kirill has done is heresy’ – thinks Ministry of Inferior Affairs of Estonia Lauri Laanemets. He hopes that the Estonian Orthodox Church will admit this. This admission would be a legitimate reason to break canonical connection of the Estonian Orthodox Church with Moscow Patriarchate.
On 06-May-2024 the Parliament of Estonia recognized leadership of Moscow Patriarchate as an organization that supports Russian military aggression against Ukraine.
Estonian authorities have been negotiating for several weeks with the Estonian Orthodox Church of Moscow Patriarchate representatives (the vast majority of Estonian orthodox faithful are its followers). They are trying to convince the Estonian Orthodox Church leadership to break relationships with Moscow Patriarchate because these relationships may threaten the security of Estonia.
