Former rector of the Moscow Church of the Holy Trinity in Khokhly
From 1993 until early January 2024, he served as the rector of the Church of the Holy Trinity in Khokhly, Moscow. On January 3, 2024, he was suspended from serving and referred to a church court. The formal reason for this was his refusal to recite the "Prayer for Holy Rus." On February 8, 2024, he was defrocked. Father Alexei was forced to leave Russia; subsequently, he was restored to his priestly rank by the Ecumenical Patriarchate and currently exercises his ministry in France.
